Royalties represent the interests retained by lessors under an oil, natural gas and mineral lease. Funds are payable on these interests based upon the value of a percentage of the minerals produced from the lease.
Clearing title is the process of verifying that you own the interest. Title is the legal right or evidence of the legal right to property.
Royalty is calculated based on the following:
For example, if you own 40 net mineral acres, the spacing unit is 640 acres and the royalty interest is 1/8, then your royalty interest in the well is (40/640) x 1/8 =0.0078125.
A division order is a document confirming ownership information in a particular property/unit and authorizing distribution of funds according to that information. It does NOT represent a sale of your property or any changes to your lease.
When you sign and return the division order, you confirm that you agree with the information disclosed in the document. If you have any questions regarding the content of your Division Order, please contact Mach Natural Resources Division Orders Department (“Division Orders”).
An owner number is your unique number for your account. You’ll want to be sure to include your owner number in all communications with Mach, including in all voicemail messages and in the subject line of any email correspondence.

Checks are issued and mailed on or about the last day of each month. If the last day of the month falls on the weekend or holiday, Mach will strive to issue checks on the preceding business day. Direct deposits are generally deposited on the or about the last day of each month. Oil revenue is normally paid within 60 days following the sales month. Natural gas revenue is normally paid within 60-90 days following the sales month.
An owner must accumulate a minimum balance in their account of $100 in order for a check to be issued. Note that we have a Minimum Release each year in July to all accounts with a balance of at least $10.
Many factors may cause your payment to vary, such as market conditions, suspended payments, adjustments (including any overpayments or underpayments), fluctuating commodity prices, regulatory or contractual changes, production volumes, seasonal conditions and operating issues which may affect the volumes produced from a well during a given time period.
Factors affecting payment may include issues such as unequal ownership between family members, incomplete Tax ID (TIN) or other required information, stale dated checks, returned checks, and/or address changes.
If you have not received a check by the 10th business day following the date of the check, please contact ownerrelations@MachNR.com or call 405-252-8197. You may also sign up for Direct Deposit (EFT) to eliminate these types of delays.
As indicated on the check, all checks are stale after 90 days. Please contact ownerrelations@MachNR.com or call 405-252-8197 to request reissue of a stale dated check.
Please contact ownerrelations@MachNR.com or call 405-252-8197.
Royalty payments may be suspended until certain conditions are satisfied. Generally, royalty payments may be suspended for reasons such as a missing Tax ID, incorrect address, assignment of interest, notice of death, lack of documentation/title confirming ownership, or disputes involving proper apportionment or ownership of interests in the minerals produced.
Amounts due are accumulated and released when a resolution has been reached and all related documents have been received and processed. All payments are retroactive to the date of suspension.
As a royalty owner, depending on the language of your lease, there are occasions where you will share in some of these costs associated with selling a product. If you have any further questions regarding your lease and post production costs, please contact Division Orders at divisionorders@MachNR.com or calling 405-252-8197.
To make a change in ownership, you will need to provide a deed, title, a court order or a death certificate (and perhaps others, depending on the state requirements). To complete the process, you may need to file more than one type of document, and all documents must be recorded in the county where the minerals are located.
Be sure to consult with an attorney, real estate professional or title company if you have any questions on how to prepare or file a document.
Each state handles these requirements differently, and you may want to contact an attorney to advise you how to proceed.
Division Orders will need a copy of the applicable portion of the Trust document that identifies the successor Trustee, the duties and the powers of the Trustee, and the circumstances leading to the replacement of the Trustee. Complete and submit a Change of Address form if needed.
Interest is transferred to the remaindermen. The death certificate and a copy of the deed noting the life estate should be submitted to divisionorders@MachNR.com. The remaindermen addresses and tax identification number(s) are required as well.
This is determined by the complexity of your transfer issue. For more details, please contact divisionorders@MachNR.com or calling 405-252-8197.
